Loose Threads garden commission
I’m really delighted to be able to share some wonderful photographs by Matt Cant of my latest commission for a London-based client. This is one of the most interesting projects I’ve undertaken to date and sees my trademark ‘Loose Threads’ concept realised at a large scale to dramatic effect. Cotton, silk, Lurex and linen yarns in a vibrant colour palette designed to compliment the plants and flowers in the garden, have been laminated in toughened glass and inlaid into a raised bed outside of bi-fold windows. The project was a real meeting of minds with the client, who is also a weaver, and who had the idea for this most unusual application of my work. Each of the five UV-stable panels measure 145 x 85cm, and was made with the renowned glass studio Innovative Glass Products Ltd in South Wales.
