Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust award
A few weeks ago I was delighted to be awarded a Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust award. This scholarship will enable me to undertake a year of specialist dyeing masterclasses with Cath Lewis of Colourfield, in her Cardiff studio. I’ve always been aware that this constitutes a real gap in my knowledge and I have so many ideas involving the use of colour in a more painterly fashion that I’m keen to produce. These masterclasses will help me realise these ambitions. The resulting textile explorations will form part of a Maker in Focus showcase exhibition at the Makers Guild in Wales gallery, Craft in the Bay in Cardiff in Autumn 2020.
