The MakerShack at Cheltenham Science Festival
Earlier in June I had one of the busiest weeks teaching of my entire life! I was delighted to be invited to run a ‘maker station’ in the brilliant MakerShack at the Cheltenham Science Festival. Visitors were invited to have a go at simple weaving on miniature laser-cut weaving frames, or if they had more time to spare, larger wooden frames. Over the course of the week, over 1,000 woven works were made by children and adults alike! It was incredible fun and such a rewarding experience to see so many truly enthused by making, process, colour and material properties.
